I paint in oils, pastels and mixed media acrylic layers. With all of my paintings, whether in the studio, or en plein air, I try to paint the essence and feeling of the subject. Some of my favorite subjects are landscapes, horses, dogs, other animals and anything in the natural world. I paint in an impressionistic, expressionistic manner, which I love to pass on to my students, whether adults or children. I teach classes as well as workshops, primarily in the Shenandoah Valley area of Virginia, but I also travel to teach.
